Computers and printer sharing one Unwired modem in the office
Before you start:
- Ensure that your Unwired modem is connected to your computer and has obtained a signal.
- Check that you have all of the necessary Netgear equipment (an WGR614 Wireless router, a wireless PC card /or Wireless USB adaptor), if you are using another brand of networking product, have the equivalents to the NETGEAR products suggested. Then follow the instructions provided with that product with regard to the setup of your network.

Now you're ready, follow these simple steps to setup your laptop to wirelessly connect with your Unwired modem in your office:
- Before connecting your Unwired Modem to your new network, firstly follow the installation instructions provided by Unwired for connecting your Unwired Modem to a single Desktop PC or Laptop. Ensure, that you have a working internet connection, before attempting to connect the Unwired Modem as part of your home or office network.
- Turn off your Unwired modem and computer.
- Remove the end of the cable that is attached to your computer and insert it into the internet port (A) on the back of the Netgear WGR614 router.

- Take the Ethernet cable which came with the Netgear router. Insert one end into the local port (B) on the back of the Netgear MR814 router and the other end into your Ethernet port in your computer or laptop.

- Turn on your Unwired modem and wait 30 - 60 seconds for the top light (the signal strength indicator) to form a solid green, yellow, or red light.
- Turn on your Computer. If software usually logs you in to your Internet connection, do not run that software or cancel it if it starts automatically.
- Turn the router on. The power light, the internet light and one of the local lights indicated by a number should be lit.
- Insert the Netgear Resource CD and follow the install assistant. As part of the installation process you will be prompted to enter a username and password, these will be admin and password (both in lower case) respectively. This username and password allows you to securely connect to your NETGEAR wireless router.
- Follow the NETGEAR instructions and run the Smart Wizard. The router will automatically detect the network type and configure your router appropriately for connecting to your Unwired Internet Service.

- Ensure that you follow the additional steps within the Netgear Resource CD installation Assistant to establish a wireless connection.
- Once you have completed the installation of your Wireless Router, according to the NETGEAR Installation Assistant, remove the cable attaching your computer to the wireless router.
- You will now need to install the wireless PC card or Wireless USB adaptor. Follow the instructions provided by the NETGEAR Resource CD for configuration of your NETGEAR wireless adapter.
- Each computer you wish to connect to this LAN will require a Wireless PC card or USB adaptor. Connect a wireless card or USB adaptor to each computer and depending on the operating software of your computer, it should automatically detect your wireless network. You will need to enter the network SSID key created for your wireless network to obtain a connection.
If you wish to connect your Printer to your wireless network, you must have at least one unused port in the back of your Netgear router. This is where your printer server will connect via a cable. You will also need to connect the other side of your print server to your printer. To setup your printer connection, simply run the resource CD that came with your print server on an available computer and follow the setup prompts
