Unwired Optimiser

Unwired's Venturi Optimiser uses the Venturi Transfer Protocol (VTP) to increase the efficiency of traffic transferred across the Unwired Network. VTP works by decreasing the amount of communication required to transfer information over Wireless Networks.

To find out what version of the Optimiser you currently have on your computer, right click on
in your task bar (bottom right hand corner of your screen), go to Help > About Venturi. -
Your computer must be using Windows 2000, XP and Vista and have 32MB of available RAM and at least 6MB of available disk space.

Unwired's Venturi Optimiser will not compromise the security of your computer or any sensitive data that you have stored on it. It works alongside most popular firewall and anti-virus software applications.

Unwired's Venturi Optimiser will work with most security software on your computer.
Common security software on both Windows Vista and XP include AVG Internet Security, Kaspersky Internet Security, Norton 360, Outpost Pro Security Suite, Trend Micro Internet Security.
However, the Optimiser will not work when you are running McAfee Total Protection 2008, Free Comodo Firewall, Comodo Antivirius and Online Armour AV+ on Windows XP.
The Optimiser will not affect your Unwired 'My Account' login, or sending and receiving your uMail.

Unwired's Venturi Optimiser does not assist FTP transfers, your private or corporate VPN connection or any Peer to Peer file sharing applications.

You can download it from the download and install page. You will need to download Unwired's Venturi Optimiser on all computers that you wish to be optimised.

If you already set up your Unwired network and are installing the Unwired's Venturi Optimiser for the first time from the download and install page, you will need to reboot your computer once.
If you are updating your copy of Unwired's Venturi Optimiser with a newer version, you will need to reboot your computer twice after you have successfully installed Unwired's Venturi Optimiser.
(Please follow the prompts provided by the installation Wizard when you install Unwired's Venturi Optimiser.)

No, the Optimiser will not work when your plan is throttled. The Optimiser will automatically reactivate once your monthly usage has been reset on your billing date or alternatively when you purchase extra usage or upgrade the usage allowance of your plan.

The spinning
in your task bar indicates that the information you are currently transferring over your Unwired connection is being optimised. When your website has loaded or if you are viewing content that is not able to be optimised, the
will stop spinning. If you find that the
logo will not spin on any websites, try restarting the Optimiser. -
If you run multiple computers (connected directly or through a router) over your Unwired connection, you will need to install Unwired's Venturi Optimiser on each computer to assure your connection is optimised.

Unwired's Venturi Optimiser has been designed to work only on the Unwired Network. Unwired's Venturi Optimiser will temporary disable itself when it is not connected to the internet via an Unwired Wireless Modem or Wireless Card.

If there are websites that do not load or appear correctly while Unwired's Venturi Optimiser is running, try switching off the Optimiser and reloading/refreshing the page. If you find that the Optimiser is preventing you from accessing a website, please let us know by emailing or calling Unwired Technical Support.

No, using Unwired's Venturi Optimiser will not increase the amount of data transferred when viewing the same site with the Optimiser off.

Unwired's Venturi Optimiser is not available to customers using either of Unwired's Fast Internet Plans. However, if you'd like to try it out, you can upgrade your plan to any of our affordable broadband plans, starting at $29.95 per month.
