This guide will help you create settings so that you may use your Unwired email account with Outlook Express 5.5 or 6.0.
Each step is illustrated by a screen shot. Follow the detailed instructions under the screen shot to complete the step.

Click on the Tools Menu (on the top toolbar). Scroll down the menu until you see Accounts option. Select that option.
Note: If you don't see Accounts right away it may be hidden. Click on the small downward arrow at the bottom of the Tools menu to reveal hidden menu options.
The next window to display is the list of Internet Accounts. When this displays, select the Mail tab at the top to display a list of configured mail accounts.

You may already have the mailbox from your other ISP configured. If you can see this account in the list, select it click on Properties and proceed to step 10.
If you do not have an existing mailbox configured, then please proceed to the next step.

Click on the Add button at the top right hand side and select Mail. This will start the Internet Connection Wizard.

This should be your first and last name (this name will appear in the "From" line when you send e-mail to others). Once you are finished entering your display name, click the Next button.

Enter your E-mail address. This will be provided to you by your other ISP. This will be the address that is displayed on the "From" line when you send e-mail to others. Once you are finished entering your E-Mail Address, click the Next button.

Under My incoming mail server is a ...... server, choose the option nominated by your other ISP.
Under the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server box, enter the server name nominated by your other ISP.
Under the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, enter esmtp.unwired.com.au
Click the Next button to continue.

Under Account name, enter the username provided to you by your other ISP.
Next, enter the password provided to you by your other ISP.
Be sure to check the box labelled "Remember password", if you do not wish to enter the password every time you check your e-mail.
Click the Next button to continue.

Click the Finish button to complete the Internet Connection Wizard.
You will now be brought back to the main menu (Internet Accounts) where a few alterations to the account just created must be made.

The new account just created will now be listed. Select this account by clicking on its name under the "Account" heading. Then click Properties and proceed to the next step.

Mail Account: type the name of this mail account into the first input field. This is the name you wish to appear in the list of accounts.
Name: This should be your first and last name (this will be the display name which will appear in the "From" line when you send e-mail to others)
E-mail address: Enter the email address provided to you by your other ISP.
Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing: Be sure to check this box if you wish to enable this account.
You do not need to fill out the other fields for operation of your mailbox. For help please consult the Outlook Express help information, by selecting the Help in the top menu bar.

Incoming mail (POP3): Enter the incoming mail server provided to you by your other ISP.
Outgoing mail (SMTP): esmtp.unwired.com.au
Account Name: Enter the username provided to you by your other ISP.
Password: Enter the password provided to you by your other ISP.
Remember Password: Be sure to check this box if you do not wish to enter the password every time you check your e-mail.
My server requires authentication: This box must be checked.
Finally, click on the Settings button in the lower section of the window (under the heading Outgoing Mail Server) and proceed to the next step.

Log on using: this must be selected.
Account name: Enter in your Unwired username, followed by ".unwired". For example, if your Unwired username is "demo", then you enter "demo.unwired"
Password: Enter the password provided to you by Unwired. The password is case sensitive.
Log on using Secure Password Authentication: This must not be selected.
Click on the OK button to save the outgoing mail server logon details. This will return you to the properties window with the Servers tab selected.
Click on the OK button to save all the changes you have made. This will return you to the list of accounts with the Mail tab selected.
Click on the Close button to return to Outlook Express.
You should now test your settings by composing an email to yourself, and then pressing the large Send/Recv button just under the menu options of Outlook Express.
If your test email does not come through immediately, please wait about 10 minutes and then press the Send/Recv button again.
